Oratorical Contest

Optimist International sponsors several scholarship contests for students to earn money to pursue opportunities in higher education: The Oratorical Contest is open to students under 18, educated in the United States, Canada or the Caribbean. Students are required to prepare a 4- to 5-minute speech on a pre-assigned topic. This contest is designed to assist youth in gaining public speaking experience and provide them with an opportunity to compete for scholarships.

Essay Contest

Optimist International sponsors several scholarship contests for students to earn money to pursue opportunities in higher education: This contest requires students under 18, educated in the United States, Canada or the Caribbean to compose a 700- to 800-word essay around a central idea. The contest is designed to develop writing and critical thinking skills.

Horace Mann Bike Giveaway

Horace Mann and the Central Minnesota Noon Optimist Club sponsor a bike giveaway every year.  The local school district sets the criteria to determine how prize winners will be chosen. For more information please contact the Central Minnesota Noon Optimist Club.

MS Walk

Ending multiple sclerosis for good will take all of us. Every year the MS Walk creates teams of friends, loved ones, and co-workers to change the world for everyone affected by MS. With every step they take, every dollar raised…a cure is that much closer. Contact the Central Minnesota Noon Optimist Club for more information.

Kids Christmas

Central Minnesota Noon Optimist Club provides a Christmas party complete with gifts and a visit from Santa Claus!  For more information on this great event and how you could be a part of it, please visit the Event Page.

Central Minnesota Noon Optimist and St. Cloud Morning Optimist Clubs annually recognize outstanding individuals, businesses, or organizations that have provided assistance to organizations that serve the youth within our communities.  To nominate an individual, business, or organization that has supported youth in an extraordinary way, please complete the attached application.

Central Minnesota Noon Optimist and St. Cloud Morning Optimist Clubs annually recognize outstanding individuals, businesses, or organizations that have demonstrated a respect for law within our communities.  To nominate an individual, business, or organization that has provided extraordinary service to make our community a safer place to live, please complete the attached application.

Don and Jean Berger Optimist Award

Don and Jean Berger epitomize OPTIMISM!  To honor this legacy to the St. Cloud Optimists, the Don and Jean Berger Award is given to those community members who follow in the footsteps of these amazing leaders.  To nominate a fellow community member for this award, please complete the attached application.
