Oratorical Contest

Optimist International sponsors several scholarship contests for students to earn money to pursue opportunities in higher education: The Oratorical Contest is open to students under 18, educated in the United States, Canada or the Caribbean. Students are required to prepare a 4- to 5-minute speech on a pre-assigned topic. This contest is designed to assist youth in gaining public speaking experience and provide them with an opportunity to compete for scholarships.

Essay Contest

Optimist International sponsors several scholarship contests for students to earn money to pursue opportunities in higher education: This contest requires students under 18, educated in the United States, Canada or the Caribbean to compose a 700- to 800-word essay around a central idea. The contest is designed to develop writing and critical thinking skills.

Horace Mann Bike Giveaway

Horace Mann and the Central Minnesota Noon Optimist Club sponsor a bike giveaway every year.  The local school district sets the criteria to determine how prize winners will be chosen. For more information please contact the Central Minnesota Noon Optimist Club.

MS Walk

Ending multiple sclerosis for good will take all of us. Every year the MS Walk creates teams of friends, loved ones, and co-workers to change the world for everyone affected by MS.
